Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and assisting in the coordination of the management of Section 8 systems, records, and documents.

  • Assisting in the preparation of applications to HUD for Housing Agency’s participation in Section 8 programs, and assisting in preparing applications for additional funding.

  • Working with Section 8 voucher holders to assist them with utilizing their vouchers, and with finding safe, decent, and affordable housing.

  • Monitoring maintenance of Section 8 records to ensure compliance with HUD regulations and Agency policies and procedures concerning housing programs.

  • Assisting in conducting orientation meetings and training with new residents and landlords on contract obligations under the housing program.

  • Encouraging landlord and resident participation in housing programs through outreach efforts.

  • Inspecting all types of dwelling units for adherence to Housing Quality Standards before leases and contracts can be executed for Section 8 participants.

  • Completing annual, quality control, complaint, and special inspections.

  • Reporting suspected fraud to immediate supervisor.

 

 

Requirements

  • Training in Section 8 eligibility, rent calculation, and occupancy a plus.

  • Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy.

  • Must be able to multitask effectively.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license to legally drive in the state of Indiana, and personal vehicle insurance.

  • Must be a Marion County resident, or willing to relocate to Marion County.

 

 

Minimum Education or Experience:

  • High School Diploma

  • Administrative and/or secretarial training and/or two+ years equivalent experience.

  • Prior office management and/or project coordination helpful.

  • Building/Maintenance experience helpful.
